How to Set Power and Sleep Options on a Laptop

Quick Steps to Access and Setup Laptop Power and Sleep Options

  • Right click on your desktop and select Display settings
  • You will get the below options on the left hand side of your popup window:

  • Under System – click on the Power & Sleep option
  • From here you can now navigate and select your preferred time line for each action listed to take place. See below option selection for your Screen and for Sleep power options:

As you can see from here you can select what you want your computer to do when you system is on battery powered. When your system is plugged in you can setup what happens to the screen as well. You can also setup when your computer is to go to sleep when it is on battery and when it is plugged in. So depending on how you use your system you can make your personal selections.
